30% of the current parliament faces criminal charges. it isn't going to be much better in the new parliament. According to research published last week, almost a fifth of the candidates face criminal charges.
By contrast, none of the sitting members of the U.S. Congress is facing criminal charges; in 2013, only two members -- or less than half a percent -- were convicted of a crime. #indiaelect
